Brian Evenson, the author of six previous books of fiction and director of the Literary Arts Program at Brown University, has written a new novel, (paperback, 218 pages, $14.95), a thriller investigating the contemporary aftermath of Mormonism’s closeted and violent past. Evenson’s first book, Altmann’s Tongue, caused a stir when it was published, resulting in his resignation from Brigham Young University and eventual excommunication from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.”
